Plan Your Research Visit

LBJ Library Reading Room

The Reading Room is currently open for research from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are closed on weekends and federal holidays. Research is by appointment only and appointment requests must be made at least one week in advance of the date you wish to start your research. Researchers must also conduct a virtual consultation with an archivist before they arrive. To schedule your consultation and appointment please email johnson.library@nara.gov or call 512-721-0212.

Before your research visit, we recommend viewing our list of holdings, subject guides, and citation guide.

Audiovisual

Appointments are required to research our audiovisual materials (film, video, audio, and photographs). Please call (512) 721-0212 to schedule an appointment well in advance of your trip. You may also email us at Johnson.Library@nara.gov. Please provide archives staff with details on your research topics.
