Michael’s interest in public policy, business, and community involvement has led him to work with the United States Department of State, Department of Commerce, a presidential campaign, and Innovation Office for the City of Austin. Driven by his passion in innovation, public private partnerships and civic engagement, Michael has served on the board of Leadership Austin and is a current board member for Prophase Biostudios. Professionally, Michael serves as a partnership specialist on behalf of the U.S. Census Bureau.

His focus is on entrepreneurial engagement of millennials through the use of technology. Michael has won fellowships through the federal government to help build community in the Netherlands, Kenya, Oman, Chad, Germany, Russia, and Pakistan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and language certificates in Mandarin Chinese and Arabic from Middlebury College and Amideast.

Michael previously led community engagement in Austin, Texas, for Ford Motor Company’s City One Challenge initiative to connect access to healthy living under the auspices of mobility. A native of Austin, he worked as a Design, Technology, and Project Manager for the City of Austin in various departments. He has the ability to cross geographical, racial, and socioeconomic boundaries to solve complex problems.
