How do I become a Friends member or renew my membership?

There are four ways to join:

• Online
• By phone: (512) 721-0198
• Onsite: During regular business hours, you may join at the LBJ Presidential Library's admissions desk.
• Mail: Download and complete the enrollment form and mail it to Friends of the LBJ Library, 2313 Red River St., Austin, TX 78705.

If I purchase a Family/Dual/Sustaining/Fellow/Legacy membership for one person, am I entitled to benefits for two people?

Yes, individuals purchasing Family, Dual, Sustaining, Fellow, Legacy or Cabinet memberships will receive membership benefits for two. You are noted in our system as the primary member with a “guest” membership card. You can also provide the name of the second membership cardholder.

If you join online, you will receive a confirmation email that can be printed or viewed on a smartphone. Your email confirmation can be used as temporary proof of membership until you are able to download your digital membership card.

How early can I renew my membership?

Early renewal is a great way to ensure you receive invitations to each and every Friends event. Renewing before your membership expires adds one year to your current expiration date. You can renew your membership anytime.

Will I be reminded to renew my membership?

A renewal notice will be mailed the month before your membership expires. An email reminder is sent at the end of the month when your membership has lapsed.

When will I get my membership card?

Gift acknowledgments and membership cards are mailed within 7-14 business days of purchase.

Can I give a membership as a gift?

Of course! Membership is a gift that will be enjoyed for an entire year. You can purchase a gift membership here. Click the "Join Online Now!" button at the bottom of the page, select the membership level, and check the option "I wish to give a gift of membership" at the bottom of the page.
