On Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, the LBJ Presidential Library hosted a screening of David Hartstein's documentary Along Came Kinky…Texas Jewboy for Governor. The screening was followed by a discussion on the psychology of celebrity on the campaign trail, moderated by The Texas Tribune's Editor-in-Chief Emily Ramshaw.
The panelists included:
- David Hartstein, director of Along Came Kinky...Texas Jewboy for Governor
- Laura Stromberg Hoke, former adviser to Kinky Friedman
- Jason Stanford, former adviser to Democrat Chris Bell
- Rob Johnson, adviser to Gov. Rick Perry
This event was presented by the Austin Film Society, the LBJ Presidential Library, and The Texas Tribune.
