Opening Day finally arrived! Visitors joined us at the LBJ Presidential Library on Saturday, October 4, for the launch of Hip-Hop America: The Mixtape Exhibit with an all-day celebration.

Guests experienced electrifying breakdancing by Cap City Rockers, music from KUTX’s The Breaks, live graffiti and sneaker artists (BT Shoe Studio, Riches Art), family-friendly activities, and more. They then stepped inside the exhibit to explore hip-hop’s rise from the streets to the global stage—with iconic artifacts and a 200-song playlist that traced the culture’s incredible journey. It was a one-of-a-kind celebration of hip-hop!
