Celebrate Lady Bird Johnson’s birthday with us and enjoy day-long holiday activities, refreshments, and a special exhibit about our favorite first lady. Born in 1912, in Karnack, Texas, Mrs. Johnson was a wife, mother, grandmother, conservationist, political advisor to our 36th president, philanthropist, businesswoman, and first lady. Happy Birthday Lady Bird!
Museum admission includes these activities from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Enjoy sweet treats made from Mrs. Johnson’s recipes, Christmas cookies, and spiced tea.
- Children and adults are invited to show off their artistic skills by creating their own holiday ornament.
- Tax-free shopping in the Store at LBJ.
- Explore our exhibits:
- Lady Bird: Beyond the Wildflowers, the first comprehensive exhibit about the life and legacy of Lady Bird Johnson.
- Porfirio Salinas: LBJ’s Favorite Painter: Known for his landscape paintings of Texas, many including bluebonnets, Salinas was popular among many Texans, chief among them – Lyndon Johnson.
