As Austin’s population and development continue to boom, the city’s housing options are becoming less and less affordable for people with low income, working-class residents, middle-class families, students, and many others. On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, the Future Forum convened a diverse group of leaders and community members to discuss some of the best ideas, plans, and ongoing efforts to ensure equitable housing options for all Austinites.

Panelists included:

  • Raul Alvarez, Executive Director, Community Advancement Network
  • Natasha Harper-Madison, Councilmember, City of Austin
  • Conor Kenny, Planning Commission Member, City of Austin
  • Heather Way, Director, Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic and Professor, UT School of Law
  • Moderator: Chris Neely, Austin City Hall reporter, Community Impact
