On Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, the LBJ Future Forum hosted former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Krys Boyd, host and managing editor of KERA FM's flagship talk show Think, for a conversation on women in leadership.

Secretary Albright's appearance marked the opening of the special exhibition, Read My Pins: The Madeleine Albright Collection, on view at the LBJ Library from Oct. 28, 2017 through Jan. 21, 2018. The LBJ Library exhibition is sponsored by Lexus of Austin and Lakeway. Exhibition made possible by Museum of Arts & Design and Bren Simon, and for the exhibition catalog by St. John Knits. Read My Pins will be accompanied by a book, Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box, published by Harper Collins.

About Madeleine Albright
Madeleine K. Albright is chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm, and chair of Albright Capital Management LLC, an investment advisory firm focused on emerging markets. Dr. Albright was the 64th Secretary of State of the United States. In 1997, she was named the first female Secretary of State and became, at that time, the highest-ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government. From 1993 to 1997, Dr. Albright served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and was a member of the President's Cabinet. She is a Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Dr. Albright chairs the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. She is also the president of the Truman Scholarship Foundation. In 2012, she was chosen by President Obama to receive the nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, in recognition of her contributions to international peace and democracy.

About Krys Boyd
Krys Boyd has been host and managing editor of KERA FM's flagship talk show Think since 2006, and hosted the weekly television program of the same name from 2007 until 2011. A graduate of TCU's Bob Schieffer College of Communication, Ms. Boyd began her career as a journalist along the U.S./Mexico border and returned to North Texas in 1999 to serve as news director for Broadcast.com, and later senior producer of broadcast news at Yahoo. She joined KERA, the Dallas affiliate of NPR, in 2001, hosting the nightly radio talk show Conversations. Later, she wrote and produced documentary and educational television programs, including the critically-acclaimed, nationally broadcast JFK: Breaking the News in 2003, and served as producer and co-host of the Emmy Award-winning public affairs program On The RecordThink has been called the best radio talk show in Dallas numerous times by D Magazine and by the Dallas Observer and has earned honors as PRNDI's best call-in program.
