The LBJ Future Forum celebrated its tenth year of hosting the Partnerships for Children (PFC) community for this special event. PFC’s mission is to make tomorrow better than today by supporting and empowering children, youth, and families involved with Child Protective Services. More information was available on the PFC website.
Future Forum also hosted a donation drive for PFC’s Rainbow Room, a 24/7 resource center located in the Child Protective Services office. Members and their guests were encouraged to bring one of the following items: diapers (size 4-7), pull-ups (any size), laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, baby wash, baby lotion, baby powder, diaper rash cream, or bottles.
This event was generously sponsored by H-E-B and Blue Bell Creameries.
The Easter Egg Roll was inspired by the White House Easter Egg Roll, an annual family event involving hunting for and racing Easter eggs on the White House South Lawn. This holiday tradition has a long history, dating back to 1878 when President Rutherford B. Hayes officially opened the White House grounds to local children for egg rolling on Easter Monday. Successive Presidents continued the tradition of inviting children to the White House Lawn for egg rolling and other activities and entertainment.
