"Sixty From the '60s," an original exhibit that opened on March 15, features iconic photographs, historic objects and documents, books, clothing, posters, and artwork related to sixty Americans who made an impact on this influential era and whose work continues to be relevant today. From arts and entertainment to social activism and civil rights, science and health to business and industry, it was these individuals who made a fundamental difference in American life. See original lyrics written by Bob Dylan, a Telstar satellite, a dress worn by Jacqueline Kennedy, Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin's communications headset, a boxing glove worn and signed by Muhammad Ali, and an original Peanuts comic strip - just to name a few of the many cultural icons that will be on display.
Michael MacDonald, Museum Registrar, will lead a tour of the exhibit this Thursday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m. for current members of the Friends. We can only accept a limited number of reservations due to the intimate nature of a tour. An RSVP is required to attend.
