On October 11-19, the Pollyanna Theatre Company will present LIBERTY! EQUALITY! AND FIREWORKS!, a new play by Austin playwright Gregory Perrin that explores the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's. Set in a history museum, the play's characters, a group of 4th-grade students, experience key elements of this important part of our national history as iconic images from that period come to life and begin to move and speak. The play is best for students grades 3 - 6 and their families.

The LBJ Library is partnering with Pollyanna Theatre Company on the creation of educational and dramaturgical materials for this production. Our organizations will cross-promote visits to see the LBJ Library’s exhibit as well as the production at the Long Center.

You're invited!  The play will be hosted in the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center from October 11-19.

Members of the Library are invited to a matinee on Sunday, October 19, at 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a "meet the cast party" including remarks from Library Director Mark Updegrove. Tickets are $8-11 each on the Long Center website.  Please email Sarah McCracken to receive a promo code good for $1 off each ticket.
