A Just School of Thought | Designing Spaces of Equity

Leveraging the conversations and learnings cultivated by the Dismantling Systemic Racism in Education series, Virginia Cumberbatch will support the advancement of LBJ’s commitment to educate, equip and empower educators from across the country to shape their work in a way that values and drives intentional diversity, inclusion and equity, and a public posture that recognizes histories of racial injustice.

With a focus on examining organizational values, institutional language, and systemic practices of inequity, the two-part workshop will guide the LBJ and education community in strengthening its ethos to confront education inequity, racialized policies, and cultural erasure. Utilizing story and historical context participants will glean meaningful insight into how education pedagogy, storytelling practices, and historic memory have an impact on shaping spaces of belonging and equity in the classroom and beyond.
