About the Play
Growing up in Texas, Lady Bird Johnson, then Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Taylor, adored the colorful nature surrounding her. With her mother's love and support, she learned all about native plants. When her mother died unexpectedly, Lady Bird found herself not knowing how to fulfill her promise to make everything more beautiful. From her personal loss grew strength and a vision to beautify the nation for everyone.
How Miss Lady Bird Changed America is a new play by Holly Hepp-Galvan, based on the popular children's book, Miss Lady Bird’s Wildflowers, by Kathi Appelt.
