The World is Watching

The Vietnam War was a conflict like no other:

The nature of the war was gruesome.

The enemy was unpredictable.

The opposition was vocal.

There are many lessons to be learned from this era in US history. The LBJ Presidential Library dived into the teachable moments from the Vietnam War that align with and expand upon the TEKS for 11th and 12th-grade social studies.

This full-day of professional development was held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum.

Speakers included:

Dr. Mark Atwood Lawrence (University of Texas)

Dr. Aaron O’Connell (University of Texas)

Dr. Sabrina Thomas (Texas Tech University)

Dr. Nu-Anh Tran (University of Connecticut)
