The LBJ Presidential Library has two standard tours—presidential and mini presidential—available to field trip groups. Please read through all the details and guidelines to ensure you book the tour most suitable for your student group.
Field Trip Groups

Grade Range: Pre-K-16. Adult/Senior Groups: please see Group Visits for more information.

Guided tours are limited to 60 students at a time. Self-guided tour groups can be requested for groups up to 150.

One chaperone is required for every eight students.

Guided tours must be requested four weeks in advance.

Self-guided tours must be requested three weeks in advance.

Classroom activities are subject to staff availability.

Presidential Tour
Learn about the life and times of Lyndon B. Johnson and the era of his administration—the turbulent 1960s.
Grade Level: All grades
Timing: 1-2 hours
Tour: Docent-led or self-guided
Exhibitions to view: Oval Office, Life in the White House, The First Ladies Gallery, LBJ's Presidency, A Legacy of Liberty, and our temporary exhibition when available
Mini Presidential Tour
This docent-led tour focuses on the role of the president.
Grade Level: PreK-3rd
Timing: 1 hour
Tour: Docent-led

Bus Scholarships
Let us cover your field trip transportation costs! Made possible through the generous support of our Amplify Austin donors, bus scholarships are available for economically disadvantaged Pre-K-12 grade schools through the school year. Transportation costs up to $250 may be reimbursed.
