AUSTIN, TX – The Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation awards the D.B. Hardeman Prize to Dr. Rebecca U. Thorpe for her book, The American Warfare State, published by the University of Chicago Press.  The $10,000 prize is given to the author(s) of the most significant book on the U.S. Congress, as chosen by the Hardeman Prize National Selection Committee.

Exactly 52 years after the 1964 Civil Rights Act became law, a new HISTORY documentary, narrated by actor Anthony Mackie, takes a contemporary look at President Lyndon Johnson's contributions in civil rights and social justice and how those reforms resonate today.

This summer, the three presidential libraries in Texas will offer free admission to active duty military personnel and their families in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense.

AUSTIN, TX - The LBJ Presidential Library is hosting The Wall That Heals, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., April 22-28, 2016 and is seeking volunteers to assist in recognizing the men and women who courageously served during the Vietnam War.
