
Lauren H. Spreen

Lauren H. Spreen is a public affairs specialist in Texas with more than a decade of experience in political and non-profit fundraising, campaign management, public policy, strategic communications, and legislative and regulatory affairs.
After her time as a staff member in the Texas Senate and House of Representatives, Spreen spent eight years serving as statewide Campaign Manager and Director of Public Affairs for Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick.
During her time at the Railroad Commission, Spreen assisted in the passing of the Railroad Commission’s Sunset Review legislation, helped to secure unprecedented funding for the agency through the legislative process, managed numerous regulatory efficiency reviews and rulemakings alongside staff and stakeholders, and spearheaded communications strategies and regulatory response to major events impacting the agency and the state’s oil and gas industry.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Spreen attended Louisiana State University, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Spreen is a member of the University of Texas at Austin McDonald Observatory Board of Visitors, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission Energy Resources, Research and Technology, and Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committees, and is an active member of the Junior League of Austin.
