Preview of the Texas Legislative Session

Thursday, February 25, Noon CST

The legislature is convening, bills are being filed, and we’re hosting our biennial preview of the Texas legislative session. The 2021 legislative session may look and feel different than before with social distancing and other measures in place, but the issues are as important as ever, including redistricting, writing the state budget, and public health issues.

Please join us on Thursday, February 25 to hear directly from state legislators.

Confirmed participants include:

  • Senator Carol Alvarado, Vice Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ports and Caucus Chair of the Senate Democrats
  • Dr. Tom Oliverson, Chairman of the House Committee on Insurance
  • Representative James White, Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety
  • Moderator: Cassi Pollock, State Politics Reporter, The Texas Tribune

Format
The moderator will lead a conversation for about 40 minutes. Following the conversation, attendees can ask questions using the Q&A function. We will be using a Zoom webinar. Zoom is free to the public but you will need to download it to your computer or device first. You can download Zoom here.
