Tom Johnson Lectureship

The Tom Johnson Lectureship was established in 2010 in recognition of and appreciation for Mr. Johnson’s 30 years of distinguished service as chairman of the LBJ Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Johnson served as executive assistant to President Johnson and, later, as president and chairman of CNN.

These lectures are free and open to the public. Veteran journalist Bill Moyers delivered the first Tom Johnson Lectureship in November 2011. In 2015, the Tom Johnson Lecturer was baseball legend Hank Aaron. Our 2016 lecturer was former Secretary of Defense Dr. Robert Gates on Thursday, Jan. 28. And in 2017, we hosted then 47th Vice President of the United States Joe Biden.
