Images from the Blanton Museum’s Witness exhibition and from the Library’s March to Freedom exhibit (which includes photos from the 2014 Civil Rights Summit and the Briscoe Center’s civil rights photos from their Spider Martin collection) were discussed.
Following the program and to keep in the spirit of the night, guests were invited to experience the Library’s March to Freedom exhibit. Library Director Mark Updegrove also signed copies of his new book, Destiny of Democracy, which reflects on the civil rights movement and President Johnson’s legacy while capturing the summit’s momentous three days.
