Future Forum | Feb, 21 2018 6:30PM - 7:30PM
With questions of race and racism at the forefront of political and policy conversations nationally, the LBJ Future Forum hosted an intimate panel discussion and audience Q&A on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, to explore the projected demographics of the schoolchildren and educators in the Texas public education system and some of the related policy, political, and socioeconomic issues.
Our panelists included:
- Rafael Bejar, Director of Outreach, Policy Advisor, Texas Public Policy Foundation
- Morgan Craven, Director, School-to-Prison Pipeline Project, Texas Appleseed
- Gina Hinojosa, State Representative for House District 49
- Gregory Worthington, doctoral student in UT’s Education Policy & Planning Program and former public school classroom teacher
- Moderator: Julie Chang, state education reporter for the Austin American-Statesman
