On Tuesday, Oct. 9, Shaka Smart, head coach for The University of Texas men's basketball team, was the Future Forum's member-only happy hour special guest. In recognition of the LBJ Presidential Library’s special exhibition, Get in the Game: The Fight for Equality in American Sports, Smart spoke to members about issues of equality in sports today.
About
Smart is in his third season at Texas and is only the 24th person to hold this position. He previously served as head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University. Coach Smart's mission at Texas is to "develop each student-athlete within the program into the best possible version of himself. The three core values of the Texas Basketball program are Relationships, Growth and Victory."
