On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, Friends of the LBJ Library members hosted Dr. David Oshinsky, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, professor in the NYU Department of History, and Director of the Division of Medical Humanities at the NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Oshinsky discussed his new book, Bellevue: Three Centuries of Medicine and Mayhem at America’s Most Storied Hospital, which chronicles the history of America's oldest hospital and in doing so also charts the rise of New York City to the nation's preeminent city, the path of American medicine, and the growth of a civic institution. Dr. Clay Johnston, dean of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, moderated the conversation. The program was co-sponsored by Humanities Texas. View event photos.

Prior to the program, The Store at LBJ hosted Dr. Oshinsky for a book signing of Bellevue
