On Friday, March 8, 2019, the LBJ Presidential Library hosted an educator professional development workshop presented by the White House Historical Association.

Workshop Details
The location of the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, is one of the world's most famous addresses. For over 200 years, this historic mansion has been the home and office of the President of the United States, including the 36th president, Lyndon B. Johnson. White House Historical Association educator Whitney Hayne explored the history behind this iconic building and presented how it could enhance a teacher's curriculum. The full-day workshop included information on the changing architecture of the building, glimpses into the lives of first families, and stories of the workers that have allowed the Executive Mansion to thrive over the centuries.

About the WHHA
The White House Historical Association is a private, non-profit educational organization with a mission to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Executive Mansion. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy helped found the association in 1961 to help the White House collect and exhibit the very best artifacts of American history and culture. Today, our acquisition, preservation, research, and education efforts continue through generous private donations and the sale of our books, products, and the official White House Ornament.
