On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, veteran journalist Dan Rather spoke to local teachers at an event hosted by the LBJ Library’s Education Department. 

Rather has covered almost every major news event since the 1960s, including John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, Watergate, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and 9/11. He was anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News for 24 years. He now serves as president and CEO of News and Guts, an independent production company.
