Stonewall, Texas - The public is invited to join the National Park Service and military representatives to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Lyndon B. Johnson on Tuesday, August 27, at 10:00 AM at the family cemetery on the LBJ Ranch. The ceremony was created by Lady Bird Johnson in 1973 as a way of honoring her husband's life and the National Park Service is happy to continue the tradition.

Each year, the sitting president sends military representatives to lay a wreath at President Johnson's grave. This year, Brig. General Robert D. LaBrutta, Commander, 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio will lead the military contingent, presenting a wreath and sharing comments on the 36th President. Jordan Metoyer, a rising at the University of Texas at Austin will deliver the keynote address. Ms. Metoyer, a native of Inglewood, California, was named the 2013 Harry S. Truman scholar and will provide a modern-day perspective on President Johnson's legacy.

Following the ceremony visitors are invited to visit the LBJ Ranch and the tour the Texas White House. No fees will be charged for the day. The LBJ State Park and Historic Site is hosting old-time family games on the grounds of the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm throughout the day.
