Exhibits Currently On View

25 Years/25 Treasures: Since 1991, the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History has grown into an international-class history research center. 25 Years/25 Treasures showcases the center's most valuable historical materials, including a 1769 George Washington letter, Stephen F. Austin's 1834-5 prison diary, and an 1881 legal opinion that has been called the "founding document of American corporate capitalism."

The National Parks Photography Project: Ten pieces from American photographer Mark Burns' The National Parks Photography Project are currently on view in our Great Hall. The project depicts Burns’ quest to capture one defining image from each of the 59 U.S. national parks.

Asia Trip 1966: Fifty years ago this year, President Johnson and Lady Bird embarked on a 17-day trip to Asian and Pacific countries to bolster international relations in the area and to attend the Manila Summit Conference in the Philippines. This Great Hall exhibit includes photos and gifts given to the Johnsons during the trip.

National Historic Preservation Act: President Johnson signed the act 50 years ago this year. This Great Hall exhibit features related photos and archival resources.
