The Scoop: Holiday shoppers can avoid mall madness and get a break on state sales taxes at the same time at the LBJ Library and Museum store's tax-free shopping weekend on December 7th and 8th.
The store carries a variety of unique items to help shoppers whittle down their holiday gift lists. Visitors can choose from limited edition hand-painted glass Christmas ornaments as well as White House dessert plates. In addition to original campaign memorabilia, avid collectors can choose from t-shirts, puzzles, note cubes and mouse pads imprinted with historic campaign buttons.
Shoppers can get a tax break on stocking suffers including kaleidoscopes, light-up pens, patriotic socks, unique jewelry or CDs featuring music from the 1960s. The store also features tote bags, scarves, ties, placemats, sculptures and posters.
