Dear Friends,

In our continuing effort to bring the biggest names and best minds to the Library, I want to make you aware of two exciting additions to our spring programming:

First, George Stevens Jr., the award winning producer and director, will join us next Tuesday to share his thoughts on his HBO film Thurgood, on the life Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Secondly, acclaimed actor, director and producer, Robert Redford will join us on April 21, for our evening with Watergate reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. Redford will talk about All the President's Men, the film depicting Woodward and Bernstein's experience in breaking the Watergate story, which Redford produced and starred in, around the film's 35th anniversary.

We hope to see you at these "can't miss" programs.

All best,

Mark K. Updegrove
Director

Thurgood, Tuesday, February 22
Join us for the Texas premiere of the HBO film starring Laurence Fishburne as Thurgood Marshall, the civil rights pioneer appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Lyndon Johnson. Special guests: John Marshall, son of Thurgood Marshall, and George Stevens, Jr., who wrote and produced the play Thurgood. Stevens is an award-winning writer, director and producer.

We are glad to take any last-minute responses. Please call or email Raine Pipkin (512-721-0176 or rpipkin@lbjlibrary.net) if you can join us.
