Dear Friends,
Thank you for joining us last
week for An Evening With Ambassador Peter
Galbraith. The program was part of a successful
symposium hosted jointly with The University of Texas
School of Law. Our next program will celebrate the
bicentennial of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.
Please read below for more details; invitations are in
the mail. Finally, I encourage you to attend some of
the many other events hosted by the Library or LBJ
School. We have included two in this eNewsletter.

An Evening With Ron White
|
 |
On February 25, please join us in welcoming
author Ron White to discuss his new
bestseller A.
Lincoln: A Biography. This year, America is
celebrating the bicentennial of one of our most
influential presidents, Abraham Lincoln. Ron White is
an expert on Lincoln, having written three books about
him. Mr. White is a Fellow at the Huntington
Library in San Marino, California, and a Visiting
Professor of History at UCLA.
This program will be held in the Connally Ballroom at
the U.T. Alumni Center on February 25 at 6:00
p.m.
A
reception will follow. Mr. White will sign copies of
A. Lincoln: A Biography for a limited time directly
before the event. Copies of the book will be available
for sale that evening. To assure being able to
purchase personally inscribed copies of the book,
guests may place advance orders with the LBJ Museum Store. For details, please call the
Store at (512) 232-2396. Members of the Friends
receive a 15% discount on purchases.

Father's Battlefield: Outsourcing Policy and
Representative Democracy by Steven L. Schooner,
George Washington University Law School. Part of
the International Security Speaker Series. To be held
in the Brown Room on the 10th floor of the LBJ
Library. No RSVP required.
- February 19, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Barbara
Jordan National Forum on
Public Policy, 'America As Good as its Promise?'
Highlighting the day-long forum will be keynote
speaker Gwen Ifill speaking on the topic of ner new
book,The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the
Age
of Obama.
To be held in the A&T Conference Center. Registration
