Dear Friends,
We will kick off the 2009-2010 season with an
American hero. Captain Eugene Cernan, the
last man
to walk on the moon, will join us September 14
to give
his personal, riveting account of traveling to the moon.
Please mark your calendar! An invitation will be
mailed soon.
Also coming soon, we will
celebrate the opening of the new exhibit,
School
House to White House: The Education of the
Presidents.
On July 28, President
Obama nominated David S. Ferriero to the
position of
Archivist of the United States. Mr. Ferriero currently
serves as the Andrew W. Mellon Director and Chief
Executive of the research libraries of the New York
Public Libraries. The Archivist oversees the National
Archives and Records Administration, including the
presidential libraries.
Sincerely,
Tina Houston
Interim Director
