Dear Friends,
On March 24 we will host an
Evening With James Steinberg, former Deputy
National Security Advisor and now the Dean of the LBJ
School. He will
explore
the history of presidential transitions from campaigns
to governing, dissect the problems faced by a new
administration, and offer solutions to improve the
process. This will be a timely program with the
presidential campaigns in full swing, so I hope you'll
join us!
Sincerely,
Betty Sue Flowers
Director

Difficult Transitions: the pitfalls of managing

Foreign Policy Studies at The Brookings Institution in
Washington, D.C., where he supervised a wide-
ranging research program on U.S. foreign policy. He
previously served as Deputy National Security Advisor
to President Bill Clinton.
Invitations have been mailed. This program will be
held at 6:00 p.m. in the Lone Star Room at the Erwin
Center. A

response card enclosed with your invitation. For more
