An Evening With Roy Spence
On March 6, Roy Spence will present an illustrated lecture on his recent book The Amazing Faith of Texas. The event and the reception following will be held in the Lone Star Room at the Frank Erwin Center. Tickets are required for entry. If you have not yet received a ticket and would like to attend, please call (512) 721-0176 or email friends@lbjlib.utexas.edu.

Roy Spence, Jr. is the president and co-founder of the Austin-based advertising agency GSD&M. Over the past 35 years, Spence and his partners have built GSD&M into a national advertising powerhouse that includes the new AT&T, Southwest Airlines, BMW, MasterCard, and the United States Air Force among its clients.

A few autographed copies of The Amazing Faith of Texas are still available for purchase at the Museum Store. Please call (512) 232-2396 for more information.

Presidential Timeline Project
On President's Day weekend, we formally launched the Presidential Timeline Project. The goal of the project is to make primary and secondary source materials from the (soon-to-be) twelve presidential libraries readily and freely available to students, educators, and adult learners throughout the world via a single unified interface. More information about the Presidential Timeline project may be found at www.presidentialtimeline.org.

The Presidential Timeline Project is funded by The National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from the LBJ Foundation and The University of Texas Digital Library Services Division.

And the category is: presidential libraries. Soon, contestants and viewers of “Jeopardy!” will be matching wits about items found in this country’s presidential libraries – some are historic, some are unusual, all are seldom-seen fascinating treasures.

On February 22, “Jeopardy!” Clue Crew members Jon Cannon and Kelly Miyahara taped items at the LBJ Library and Museum that will become creative and interactive visual clues for a future show. LBJ staff scoured the Library’s collections in search of pieces that will be featured.

“We are thrilled that the Clue Crew from Jeopardy! will be showcasing some of the most interesting objects from the Library’s collections,” says Betty Sue Flowers, Director of the Library. “This will provide a new opportunity for the public to see and understand the wealth of information not only at the LBJ Library but at all presidential libraries.”
