Congressman Michael McCaul at the LBJ Library
|
||
In April of 2007 President Bush signed a bill into law
naming the Federal Department of Education building
in Washington, D.C., for President Lyndon Baines
Johnson. President Johnson successfully
implemented legislation and programs that allowed
millions of American children the opportunity to
receive quality educations.
On Wednesday, May 30, Congressman Michael
McCaul, a sponsor of the legislation to name
the building for President Johnson, presented the
redline copy of the bill and a pen used by President
Bush to sign the bill into law to the LBJ Library and
Museum as well as the Johnson family. The building
dedication will take place in D.C. in early fall.
