In recent years, speakers have included former Secretary of State James Baker, First Lady of California Maria Shriver, TIME Magazine Editors Michael Duffy and Nancy Gibbs, Senator Bill Bradley, Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne, producer CC Goldwater, journalist Cokie Roberts, and the last man to walk on the moon, Captain Gene Cernan.

Membership benefits include:

  • An invitation and free admission to the lecture series “An Evening With...”
  • The newsletter Among Friends of LBJ and monthly eNewsletter
  • An invitation to opening receptions for new exhibitions
  • Advance information on major symposia and other events
  • 15% discount on purchases made in the LBJ Museum Store
  • Free admission to all other presidential libraries (The LBJ Library is the only presidential library that does not charge admission.)

Sustaining members donate $250 or more annually and receive invitations to the annual Harry Middleton Lectureship in addition to the benefits listed above. Recent lecturers have included author and historian Douglas Brinkley, journalist Tom Brokaw, and playwright David Mamet.
