Julia Child’s Cookbook

This week's artifact is a 1967 edition of Mastering the Art of French Cooking (1973.1047.1) by Julia Child.  This copy has a personal inscription of admiration: "To Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson—All good wishes from one of your many admirers—Julia Child."

While Julia Child made French cooking famous, you may not know of Lady Bird’s own culinary successes.  Check out her recipe for Pedernales River Chili here.
