On Wednesday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. members gathered to hear from four state representatives on the issues facing the Legislature in the 83rd Session. The program was an hour-long bipartisan discussion with questions from the audience at the conclusion. A reception followed.  

Panelists included:

  • Representative Cecil Bell, Jr. (R)
  • Representative Mary Gonzalez (D)
  • Representative Mark Strama (D)
  • Representative Jason Villalba (R)

Brian Sweany, Senior Executive Editor of Texas Monthly, moderated the discussion.  The program was co-sponsored by Texas Monthly and the Center for Politics and Governance at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
