Private screening of Lee Daniels’ The Butler
Aug 15, 2013
On Thursday, August 15, the LBJ Library partnered with the Weinstein Company to offer a private, advance screening of Lee Daniels' The Butler, a film inspired by the true story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents, including President Johnson, over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and features an all-star cast including Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Liev Schreiber (portraying LBJ), Cuba Gooding Jr., and many more. Click here for more details on the film.
The LBJ Library does not endorse this film and has not had an opportunity to screen it in advance.
