On March 24, 2017, we partnered with The LBJ School of Public Affairs and The John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies to host a two-part program: documentary screening of "Get in the Way: The Journey of John Lewis" and a conversation with Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell about their National Book Award-winning graphic memoir series, "March."

Directed by Kathleen Dowdey, "Get in the Way: The Journey of John Lewis" is the first documentary about Congressman John Lewis. It spans more than half a century, tracing Lewis' journey of courage, confrontation, and hard-won triumphs.

The graphic memoir series, "March," depicts the inside story of the Civil Rights Movement through the eyes of one of its most iconic figures, Congressman John Lewis. It is co-written with Andrew Aydin and illustrated by Nate Powell.

This program is in conjunction with the exhibition March ON! featuring drawings from the National Book award-winning graphic memoir series, March. The exhibition is on view at the Christian Green Gallery until April 15, 2017.
