On Tuesday, Oct. 16, the Future Forum hosted a conversation on gun control and school safety. David Carter, Assistant Vice President Campus Security and Chief of Police, The University of Texas at Austin and Brian Manley, Chief, Austin Police Department discussed how they approach the safety of students while taking into account the variables of multiple campus locations, sizes, and age of students. The conversation was moderated by R.G. Ratcliffe, senior editor at Texas Monthly.

A reception and Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Beto O'Rourke debate watch party followed the panel.
