A Conversation on the Dell Medical School and Its Impact

Nov 12, 2013

On Tuesday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m., the LBJ Future Forum hosted a discussion on the landmark public institution in medical education planned for The University of Texas at Austin campus.

Last November voters approved the use of tax money to support this important initiative. As a result, the Dell Medical School is scheduled to accept its first class in 2016, and - as part of a unique partnership with Seton Healthcare Family, a regional health care system, and Central Health, a public health care district - a new teaching hospital will be constructed adjacent to the new Dell Medical School.

Panelists included:
Greg Hartman, President, Academic Medicine, Research & External Affairs, Seton Healthcare
Dr. Kyle Janek, Texas Health & Human Services Executive Commissioner
Dr. Steven Leslie, Special Assistant to the President for Medical Education, University of Texas at Austin

The Future Forum is a membership organization of the LBJ Presidential Library. Learn more!
